MarketWatch: “Google’s Waymo is raking in cash”

.... Google is active in the autonomous-driving market with its Waymo subsidiary, which has "has clearly emerged as the frontrunner," according to DataTrek cofounder Jessica Rabe.
She noted on Wednesday that outside of companies in the pure "AI investment theme," Waymo raised the most capital in the first quarter. Within autonomous vehicles, Waymo's $16 billion February fundraise made up three quarters of industry investment in the period, "underscoring just how concentrated capital flows have become," Rabe wrote.
"Long-term winners will be determined by the ability to scale with attractive unit economics, making Waymo the early benchmark in the U.S.," she added"....
