How Much Tech Do You Own?

In today’s video, DataTrek co-founder Jessica Rabe goes over information that is crucial for every investor to know: how much Tech exposure you have in popular funds by region and investment style. That’s especially important given the 8 US Big Tech companies’ high valuations, a concern of many investors. For example, did you realize over half (61%) of US large cap Growth is in the Tech sector + Amazon, Meta, Alphabet and Tesla? Their high multiples don’t bother us, but for more risk averse investors you can get plenty of Tech exposure with the S&P 500. Lastly, the Chinese government’s crackdown on private enterprise – especially Tech – over the last few years hasn’t just hurt that country’s stocks, but MSCI Emerging Markets as well given that a quarter of the index is in China. MSCI China is trading under where it was in April 2011 when it launched and MSCI EM is trading at 2007 levels.
